There are many websites on the internet that advertise “Spyware” to listen in on conversations, intercept text messages, phone calls, emails, your location, and many more scary items with your cell phone. Some companies promote this spyware as monitoring for your children, or to spy on your cheating spouse. There are also several websites that say you can remotely install the spyware without physically having the cell phone.
Our Investigators have tested some of these spywares on our own phones to see if it really works like the websites say it does. Our results are that the websites that say you can install it remotely are wrong. What these companies don’t tell you is what you will find in the fine print after you purchase the product. Smart phones today have security features built into the settings that keeps someone from just randomly downloading spyware to your cell phone remotely. We found that you physically have to have the phone in your possession in order to install the spyware and hide the spyware apps that are included with the spyware. We also know that if it is an Android cell phone that the phone has to be “Rooted” to allow a third party application to be installed, and if its an iPhone, then the cell phone has to be jailbroken in order for a third party application to be installed to the iphone.
So, with the testing we discovered that the spyware one installed on the cell phone does work. But don’t be fooled in the websites stating that it cannot be found!
